La Reina del Sur
I chose the Telenovela: La Reina del Sur, on Netflix. It was not my first choice as my telenovela but it has definitely caught my attention. I have already watched several episodes since we made our choice. I am having a hard time putting this one down. I was expecting very action filled scenes and there is a lot of that but they are driven by passion and love. The protagonist, Teresa Mendoza, is on the run for her life after her boyfriend Gȕero was shot to death. He was the first man she ever fell in love with and he treated her well. There are many flashbacks of their relationship and I thoroughly enjoy seeing the connection they have. It makes the action filled moments and deaths more dramatic and meaningful. Teresa soon comes to learn the kind of job that her boyfriend had and how his mistakes will possibly cost herself her life. So far, the only person somewhat looking out for Teresa’s safety and the only hope for her life is Epifanio. Epifanio is Gȕero’s family and also who he ...
